IOEarth have postponed their planned show at the Hare & Hounds in Birmingham on April 21, after pulling out of the HRH Prog festival at the weekend.
The band say singer Claire Malin is seriously ill and is not able to perform.
They’ve managed to save their appearances at De Boerderij in the Netherlands on April 13 and at the Celebr8.2 festival next month by bringing in stand-in vocalist Linda Odinsen.
IOEarth say in a statement: “Linda performed with us two years ago, and last week on the Cruise To The Edge festival. She was amazing – you guys are in for a real treat.”
The Birmingham show was tied in with the launch of the band’s DVD, Live In The USA. They say: “We have tried everything in our power to make it happen. Claire has been suffering with an ongoing illness which will take time to heal and is very serious.
“We promise the wait will be a short one, and the gig will blow you away.”
Discussing the cancellation of their set at HRH Prog, the band reported: “We were so upset. IOEarth do not cancel gigs on a whim, but this was taken out of our hands. Claire is not in the right physical condition to perform. All we can do is apologise – we will make it up to you guys. We promise.”
