TesseracT reveal new singer

TesseracT TesseracT have named Ashe O’Hara as their new singer, following the departure of Elliot Coleman.

The band, who won the New Blood gong at Prog Magazine’s inaugural Progressive Music Awards, have also released a sneak preview of upcoming single Nocture, featuring O’Hara’s vocals. Hear it below.

His early career was in choirs and musical theatre before becoming a session singer and getting involved in ambient and alternative metal.

O’Hara says: “I have always been an admirer to TesseracT’s work so it’s pretty awesome to be passed such a challenging flame.

“I am very aware of the anticipation and I’m certainly feeling the weight of it – but I’m equally excited over what will be an amazing shit-hot experience.”

The band say of Nocturne: “It’s one of the most uplifting and exciting pieces of music we have created. It faithfully continues down the same vein of the groovy, euphoric progressive soundscapes we’re known for, while at the same time allowing for the musical evolution that’s essential for any band that has lineup changes.”

TesseracT are currently working on their first album with O’Hara, and they’ll tour Europe in October. The single Nocturne is released on October 12.

Former frontman Coleman announced his departure in June after just ten months with the band. He said the move was amicable, explaining: “We all realised we were all good guys and we all got on. When it came to writing a new album, that’s when we came to a standstill – we became aware we weren’t really a match. Things like that happen. They were successful before I joined and they’ll be far more successful now I’m gone.”
