Ed Sheeran & Pink Floyd?

Ed Sheeran English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is quickly becoming a hot music commodity and things are only getting better for the rising star. Talking to an Australian radio station, Sheeran claimed he’ll be performing Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” with the band’s surviving members at the closing of the 2012 Olympic ceremonies in London.

Sheeran had previously been rumored to be joining The Who at the event.

Also, ever since the surviving members of Pink Floyd last performed together in 2011 – when David Gilmour and drummer Nick Mason joined Roger Waters onstage to play “Outside The Wall” during a London performance – they said it would be the very last time. So perhaps Sheeran is performing the track with just one of the members and not necessarily the full band?
