Anathema forced to postpone US & South American shows

Anathema logoUnfortunately, due to logistical reasons, the South American dates in Mexico, Argentina and Chile with Anneke have had to be postponed. The new dates will be:

26 July Mexico @ Circo Volador
28 July Argentina @ Teatro Colegiales
31 July Chile @ Teatro Caupolican

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED A TICKET IT WILL STILL BE VALID FOR THE RESCHEDULED DATES.

We are also very sorry to announce that as a result of these shows moving, this means that the show in Brazil is unable to go ahead.

Because the dates in South America are moving, this has impacted at the last minute on Anathema’s US/Canadian plans. We are sorry for any disappointment and inconvenience that this will cause our fans.

HERE FOLLOWS A DIRECT MESSAGE TO ANATHEMA’S SOUTH AMERICAN FANS FROM VINCENT AND DANIEL:

We are very sorry for the cancellation of the Brazil show. Also for the re-timing of the south American tour. Once again it’s the Brazilian fans that have been made to suffer for somebody else’s actions. If reasonable agreements could have been met, we would have our brothers and sister here in Washington today and none of this need ever have happened.

These situations were completely beyond our control and had nothing to do with Anathema. This was due to certain businessmen being unable to reach a decision between themselves. It’s such a shame for loyal fans to be messed about and we are very sorry. We are as disappointed as you guys.

We realize that our south American audience are among the best in the world. We promise to make it up to our friends in Brazil by trying to find a way back there at the earliest opportunity.

When we return, as always we will give everything we have got onstage, and we sincerely hope that we may continue a long standing friendship between Anathema and our south American fans.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM VINCENT CAVANAGH REGARDING ANATHEMA IN THE USA 17-05-2011
This week, due to circumstances outside of our control, the full band will not be able to travel to the US and Canada to perform with Blackfield. Despite making every effort and exploring all avenues to make this trip possible, we were not able to find a solution.

Our fans are our number 1 priority and so as not to let you down, we’ve generated enough support to keep most of our American Dream alive but this does still mean a few unavoidable changes to the plan.

We wanted to let you know that instead of the full band appearing, myself and Danny will now be performing acoustically. We’re really excited as it’s our first club show tour in the States and Canada and with absolute respect for fans who have bought tickets, we want to go over and give you a great show. Even though we’ll be focussing mainly on the newer material we’re still ready to play some of the old songs if people want to hear them! In fact, to us, these acoustic gigs are more special and exciting in a way – they are less structured and more improvised than a full band show – there’s room for a bit of freedom on the night. Additionally, due to the unprecedented style of these shows we have decided to record these rare acoustic performances for forthcoming special releases and exclusive online content.

We really feel this is just the beginning of Anathema’s US story and Danny and I are looking forward to meeting everyone. We will be on the merchandise stand after every performance to greet you all and we will do our best to make sure the full band gets to tour in the USA as quickly as possible, perhaps even headlining before the end of the year.

Whilst we realise this is a significant change from the original plan and we are disappointed that we can’t perform with the full band, we are thrilled that we can still play to our fans in the USA and Canada. In true Anathema spirit, the show WILL go on.
