The 3rd Celebr8.3 festival London, may 31st and june 1st

unnamed (7)

Now in its 3rd year and this time being held in Central London. Celebr8.3 brings together amazing musicians, fantastic music and a wonderful atmosphere, recognizing the importance that Progressive Rock plays in our heritage and the new innovative sounds of today.

If you read the term progressive rock, you automatically think of over indulgence and self indulgence, full of capes and swords, but think again……..that was the case in the 70’s but progressive music is enjoying a brand new lease of life with a totally different audience in the 20th Century. It has evolved……and Celebr8.3 celebrates modern music, and nods to the 80’s revival with bands like

Twelfth Night, who are playing their last ever live show.

Frost*……Ivan Novello Award Winner, Jem Godfrey’s band. Godfrey was responsible, with Bill Padley at Wise Buddah music, for many UK number one hits including Atomic Kitten’s platinum-selling single, “Whole Again”, which earned the pair two Ivor Novello Award nominations, and the production and remixing of the international hit version of “Kiss Kiss” by Holly Valance. He won an Ivor Novello in May 2006 for the best selling single of 2005, “That’s My Goal”, for The X-Factor’s Shayne Ward.

Theo Travis, the British saxophonist and flautist. (David Sylvian, Steven Wilson, Robert Fripp and Bill Nelson), will be joining The Tangent, enriching their already captivating set. Galahad’s, “Beyond The Realms of Euphoria” , using epic symphonic tracks mixed with dance music.

A one off London performance by Anathema Acoustic. There is beauty, intensity, drama, quietude and extra musical dimensions that the band has only previously hinted at, and are gaining acclaim for.

Unique acoustic performances by John Mitchell (It Bites, Frost, Arena) and Kim Seviour (Touchstone) on Saturday and Andy Tillison (The Tangent) and Matt Stevens (The Fierce and The Dead) on Sunday. It is also planned to have a number of very special guests from the world of prog performing with both acoustic duos.

Celebr8.3 takes place at Islington Assembly Hall on Saturday 31st of May and Sunday 1st of June Doors Open at 1.00pm, with performances starting at 2.00pm.
