MOSTLY AUTUMN: MA live dvd recording this Friday 2 of April!
Well, it has been a fairly busy time behind the scenes around Mostly Autumn these last few months. A few decisions have been made and plans put into place for a very exciting year. Of course we are all looking forward to the gig on 2nd April in Leamington – with mixed feelings it’s true but then we must look forward and welcome Olivia for her first gig fronting the band at the Gloucester Guildhall on 10th April followed by 5 Dutch dates – really exciting to see what she can do (a few words from her below). The gig at Leamington you will be pleased to know, will be filmed for a DVD – by John Vis – a Dutch friend who has much experience and we will get it released as soon as we can – fingers crossed everything will go well on the night.
Bryan is putting in a tremendous amount of time writing and in the studio and has decided the new album (Go Well Diamond Heart) will kick off the new era for Mostly Autumn in fine style with a Limited Edition double album. This will be available for pre sale soon and we hope to start shipping around July. The general release single album will probably have a release date around late September. Of course timings are not set in stone yet!!
Meanwhile – we have the spring tour to look forward to and a tour in the autumn to promote the new album (though look out for a few tasters in the set list a bit sooner....maybe).

MARILLION: to release "The Official Bootleg Box Set Volume 2" (which includes limited edition A4 artwork print) ....
In 2008, EMI released ‘Early Years’, Marillion’s Official Bootleg Box Set 1982-1987, a six disc set of previously unreleased live recordings featuring the band’s original front man and vocalist, Fish. In 1988, following the band’s fourth opus, ‘Clutching At Straws’, Fish departed to follow a career as a solo artist, leaving the core band members of guitarist Steve Rothery, bassist Pete Trewavas, Mark Kelly on keyboards and drummer Ian Mosley, to seek a new singer and front man. They settled on former Europeans vocalist Steve Hogarth in 1989, releasing ‘Season’s End’ that year, and continuing to write and release new product with the same line-up to this day.
This second, companion volume, features a total of four entire concerts and two radio sessions across its eight discs. Kicking off with their April 1990 set at Leicester’s De Monfort Hall, this gig is a mixture of tracks from the then current album ‘Season’s End’, along side Marillion classics and fan favourites such as ‘Kayleigh’, ‘Lavender’ and debut single, ‘Market Square Heroes’.

However Mercy writes that there is no lasting damage to the tendons and muscles and was able to pick up a guitar last October. The band have started to write material for a new CD which could possibly appear in the early months of 2011. For the full story see HERE.

NO-MAN: Tim Bowness features on Kscope podcast...
In the latest Post-Progressive Podcast from Kscope, we meet up with Tim Bowness from No-Man to talk about the recent double DVD Mixtaped, the forthcoming reissue of Wild Opera, to find out why a No-Man concert is a rare and precious thing, and to find out what he has planned…AND we go backstage with nu-gaze pioneers Engineers to find them in good spirits after a line-up change, and to discover whether ‘’Shoegaze” is a blessing or a curse!
And, of course, your genial host Billy Reeves plays you tracks from Richard Barbieri, No-Man, Engineers, a brand new one from the eagerly awaited forthcoming The Pineapple Thief album, and North Atlantic Oscillation: who since their appearence on the previous Kscope, The Post Progressive Podcast, have become the hippest rock band in the UK (a Radio 1 album of the week, 8/10 in the NME, raves from the London Sunday Times and Uncut amongst others). Told you so! PLUS, listen out for news of the forthcoming Anathema album…

ANATHEMA: have officially announced the release of their 8th studio album ‘WE’RE HERE BECAUSE WE’RE HERE,’ to be released on May 31st via Kscope Records.
"We’re Here Because We’re Here" is Anathema’s most expansive album to date and by the far best thing we’ve ever done. Not only have we improved as writers, but because we took our time, we had the opportunity to select the very best material and concentrate on it. We gave the songs the chance to breathe and come alive by themselves and it’s ended up being magical – every song is as good as the rest of them.
The self-produced album was mixed by Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) and features the exquisite string arrangements of Dave Stewart (Stewart/Gaskin, Porcupine Tree) and mastering skills of legendary Jon Astley (The Who, Led Zeppelin). The song 'Angels Walk Among Us' features subtle backing vocals by Ville Valo of H.I.M.
