Rush - Songwriters Hall Of Fame 2010
RUSH: join Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction
The Canadian Songwriting Hall of Fame honours and preserves Canada’s rich songwriting heritage by honouring artists that have written songs that have entered into popular culture and been sustained for a significant period of time. RUSH will be inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame on Sunday, March 28th, 2010 at the gala held at the Toronto Centre for the Arts.

The 5 RUSH songs entering the Hall of Fame are Tom Sawyer, The Spirit of Radio, Limelight, Closer to the Heart and Subdivisions. Which means Rush and their songs are joining the likes of Joni Mitchell “Big Yellow Taxi”, Burton Cummings/Randy Bachman “American Woman”, Leonard Cohen “Hallelujah”. As part of the induction, bands influenced by Rush will be performing renditions of their hits. Alexisonfire will be taking on “Tom Sawyer”, Primus frontman Les Claypool and his band will be playing “The Spirit Of Radio”, and Jacob Moon will be performing “Subdivisions”.

Needless to say, it’s a great honour for the band and all 3 members of Rush will be in attendance on this special night.
In other Rush news, the long awaited documentary by Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn entitled "Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage". The premier is to be held at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City on Saturday 24 April 2010. All three members of the band are to attend the event.

JONAS REINGOLD / KARMAKANIC: Jonas Reingold is to start writing a new Karmakanic album later this year. To get inspiration for the songs he plans to stay at the Chelsea Hotel on West 23rd Street in New York for several weeks and write some new material. The hotel has been a centre of creative and bohemian activity for many years. Bob Dylan, Arthur C. Clarke, Alan Ginsburg and Gregory Corso all composed new work when in residence, while the hotel was used in the 1960s by Janis Joplin, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, and the Grateful Dead.

In related news, Reingold is very happy about the results of his own record company Reingold Records, which has now been in operation for six months. New releases from 3rd World Electric, Lalle Larsson and the live album from the Agents Of Mercy and Karmakanic entitled The Power of Two: Live In The USA have all sold above expectations and received good reviews.
OSADA VIDA: Metal Mind Productions have released on their official YouTube Channel a video of Osada Vida's title track from their most recent studio album "Uninvited Dreams". According to MMP the clip perfectly reflects the atmosphere and nature of this fresh and original music. The band hope that the video will stimulate the listeners' imagination and thus encourage them to listen to the entire album.

Lukasz Lisiak (vocals, bass): "We feel that these images perfectly reflect the elusive feeling when you wake up from a bad dream. The video is very dreamy, but also very intense at times. Sometimes there's a lot of colors, but soon afterwards everything becomes black and white. We like that atmosphere and we are very pleased with the achieved results."

Darek Świtała, the director of the video: "Osada Vida's music is very original and imaginative, which gave us an opportunity to tell, be means of images, of all those things that occur in a dream. Basically, the "Uninvited Dreams" video represents a dream any one of us can have. There is a place for unrest here, for retrospection, but also for unexpected and inexplicable memories. As we wanted the unreality of the whole to be as convincing as possible, we decided to use a Blue Box and a lot of computer effects."

Metal Mind Productions released “Uninvited Dreams” in late 2009. The album is available in two editions: as a standard jewel case CD and as a digipak with 3 bonus tracks.

THE REBEL WHEEL: releases "We Are In The Time Of The Evil Clocks" on 10T Records
The Rebel Wheel - We Are In The Time Of Evil Clocks 201010T Records is proud to announce the release of The Rebel Wheel's brand new full length CD entitled “We Are in the Time of Evil Clocks” on June 8, 2010. This will be the Ottawa-based band’s 3rd official release and their second on 10T Records, following the critical acclaim of 2008’s “Diagramma.” The album received a DPRP Recommended tag and you can read the review HERE.

Steeped in dark, cinematic soundscapes and complex turn-on-a-dime arrangements, The Rebel Wheel features an infectious mix of rock aggression and soaring, odd-meter unpredictability.  A four-piece performance band featuring guitars, keyboards, sax, drums and bass, The Rebel Wheel focuses on modern, genre-blending Progressive Rock with strong male and female lead vocals.  The current lineup of The Rebel Wheel features David Campbell on guitar, keyboards, bass, and vocals, Angie MacIvor on alto and soprano saxes, vocals, and keyboards, Aaron Clark on drums and percussion, and Claude Prince on bass.

"We Are in the Time of Evil Clocks"” is available for immediate pre-sale through the 10T Records website.  All orders received between now and the official release date will ship by the end of the week prior to the official release.  Additionally, all tracks from "We Are in the Time of Evil Clocks" are available to preview in their entirety through the 10T Records website. After June 8, "We Are in the Time of Evil Clocks" will be available to purchase from retail outlets.

In this interview Stefan speaks about the album, and how they came to make the album, as well as personal stuff. The complete interview is in German but here are some of the interesting highlights translated into English.

Rock times: "When can we expect to see you guys play live in Northern Germany? Or have you played here already? And where else can we see you perform live in the near future?"

Stefan Artwin: "Relocator like Northern Germany, It would be fun to play there very soon. I have however played in Hamburg and Rostock with my former bands, which was fun. No Gigs are definite right now; they are all in the pipeline."

Rocktimes: "When can we expect a new Album?"

Stefan Artwin: "Realistically speaking I would say 2011, this all because of the amount of time we needed to make our debut album. But a second album will come definitely."
